I had a great time doing a Christmas contract here a few years back. The audiences and the town really, really love these shows and the performers. The cast housing is fine. It has two full kitchens, which was awesome! The cleanliness of the house is really dependent on the people you're living with, as they don't have professional cleaners coming in between productions or anything. If anything needs to be addressed in terms of housing, the theater staff is usually quick to get things fixed. The base pay as a performer is pretty low, and you don't get any overtime for outside promotional stuff like public performances or radio interviews. Being a server is where the money is, but not everyone is going to want to do that extra work while already doing 8-9 shows a week.
